Online Library Resources & Learning Tools

Although schools and public libraries across Rhode Island are closed, there are many opportunities to access free learning and recreational resources through Rhode Island's libraries.

The Office of Library and Information Services' Statewide Reference Resource Center at Providence Public Library (AskRI.org), provide resources that are freely available online to all Rhode Islanders. Ocean State Libraries provides online resources that are freely available to public library card holders through eZone, including downloadable eBooks, audiobooks and streaming videos. Local public libraries may provide additional resources to card holders of their libraries, such as digital magazines, movies and music.

If you don't have a Rhode Island public library card or your card has expired, you can renew or apply for a library card online through Ocean State Libraries.  Please note that library cards are available to residents of Rhode Island only.

Visit AskRI to explore free resources to help you learn a language, complete homework assignments, conduct research, or simply satisfy your curiosity.  There are resources for learners of all ages, families, and other curious souls!
