The OLIS Adult Services Roundtable (ASRT) connects librarians and staff who provide services, including programming and readers’ advisory, to adults for purposes of discussion, peer education and collaboration. The goal of the ASRT is to create a community where individuals who plan adult programming, promote various literacies, provide readers’ advisory, and manage relationships with community groups can connect and discuss challenges, opportunities, best practices and current trends in the field.
At meetings throughout the year, the community collects and shares ideas, information and news about best practices, programming and troubleshooting issues specific to adult services. The ASRT has a planning meeting in June at which members identify educational and professional needs, determine topics of mutual interest, and identify presenters for topical programs or meeting.
